Bizen ware is known as "the art of clay and fire" — a nearly 1,000-year-old Japanese tradition made without any glaze. Every color and pattern comes from the fire itself, so no two pieces are ever alike. The one you receive is the only one of its kind in the world.

The surface feels slightly rough when new. With use, it will grow smoother and develop a natural luster — this is not wear, but character. Handmade in Japan by artist Touho Sawada. Because each piece is hand-formed, size, weight, and appearance may vary slightly from piece to piece and from the reference photo — that variation is part of its beauty, not a flaw.

A versatile cup built for soup — cold in summer, warm in winter — but equally suited to tea, water, or anything you'd serve family-style. Bizen ware's natural porosity helps keep drinks at temperature longer than glazed ceramics.
